Last week, student-driven clubs, Culture Shock and Salam in Islam partnered to collect donations for Radiant Hands, Inc. Tampa. Since 2015, Radiant Hands has been able to serve over 1700 refugees by providing all different types of services that go from immediate relief and resettlement assistance to long-term self-sufficiency programs.
Enaye Englenton, faculty advisor for Culture Shock, reached out to Miriam Ghabour, parent of Tampa Prep alumni, Dahlia, Yousef, Adam, and Office Manager at Radiant Hands, to inquire about the most urgent needs in anticipation of a significant influx of families being resettled in Tampa from Afghanistan.

The Tampa Prep community embraced the opportunity to assist this organization in welcoming Afghan families recently displaced by the change of regime in their home country. Students and faculty donated an abundance of baby items, including diapers, food, and clothing, as well as much-needed feminine hygiene products. Others contributed by making monetary donations directly to Radiant Hands.

Thank you to all who contributed so generously!

Members of Culture Shock and Salam in Islam look forward to continuing to support this local organization that is providing such a valuable resource in our community.

Anyone wishing to donate directly to the resettlement efforts may do so using this link. All amounts, big or small, are greatly appreciated.
