Relevance is key for the Math Department.
Middle School students in Algebra 1 classes are investigating linear equations this week. They each made videos of a movement, then designed a graph in the Cartesian Coordinate System to describe the action. Among the variety of video/graphs were diving turtles, diving students, obstacle courses, students playing catch and horseback riding.
Students also wrote equations using slope and y intercepts to "Land their Planes" on their iPads.
