On Friday, September 4, Tampa Prep 11th and 12th grade Marine Biology students were joined on Zoom by NOAA Commissioned Officer, LTJG Andrew Fullerton.
Fullerton, a Tampa Prep Alum from the Class of 2013, talked to the students about his path from Tampa to Colby College, to officer school, to the NOAA ship Oregon II. On board, he served as an OOD (Officer of the Deck) where he managed the ship and scientific collection for two and a half years. He is now stationed in Miami as the Operations Manager of the Marine Mammal and Turtle Division at NOAA's Southeast Fisheries Science Center.
