I am admittedly one of the biggest procrastinators I know, so I am always asking for MORE
TIME in any given day! You may be wondering, “Why is the TPPA President blogging about
time?” Well my friends, there is no time like the present and I am going to take this time to
inform you on all things Tampa Prep Parents Alliance.
The Tampa Prep Parents Alliance (TPPA) is made up of parents/guardians of students who are
actively attending Tampa Prep and they become members of the TPPA automatically when their
children are enrolled. The purpose of TPPA is to foster camaraderie and a sense of community
among parents. Its focus is to provide volunteer support to the school, and serve as a liaison
between the school and parents. We have 46 parent volunteers who make up the TPPA Board
by dedicating their time and talents. The board is comprised of an Executive Committee, 7
Committees, 4 Special Interest Groups and 21 Grade Level Representatives. We host monthly
meetings, over 35 grade level events for both parents and students, events for parent
education, faculty appreciation, international parents, book club, Terrapin Dads and whole
school events like Prep Fest (formally known as Spring Fam Jam) and End of Year BBQ.
Now that we got all that out of the way, I’m going to tackle two of the most frequently asked
questions among Tampa Prep Parents, “How do I get involved? How do I find out about
events?”
First step is to take some time to explore the TPPA page on the website in the parent portal
here. On that page you will find a wealth of information! Click on all the tabs at the top of the
page and feel free to reach out to any of the volunteers for additional information on specific
committees or groups. There is even an Upcoming Events page which is updated weekly and
highlights all upcoming TPPA events within the next 2-3 weeks. There is also a link for a form to
fill out if you would like to be invited to participate in volunteer opportunities at school as they
come up during the 2021-22 school year.

more information, RSVP links, volunteer opportunities and sign ups where applicable.
Now that I have taken the time to go over all of this (what I consider to be helpful) information, I
